OUR COMMITMENT FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE.

We have turned our ambitions into defined goals - becoming more and more sustainable one step at a time.

We take positive actions that will not only improve our company and our products, but also help the world at large. Through programs and actions that go beyond our business, we protect what is bigger than what we produce.

We strive for net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. This is to be achieved through several measures that contribute to lowered CO2 emissions, including regular reporting, decarbonization strategies and compensation measures (Scope 1,2,3).

A 10% Reduction Initiative (Energy, Waste, Water) was implemented in January 2021 across all entities.

74% of our electric power consumption is emission free.

Sustainability is not just about nature, but humans too. We make sure everything that goes into our products meets our standards and is in line with our values. When we care about how our products are made, then we have to care about the conditions under which they are made.
That’s why we aim to comply and exceed in the following fields: Code of Conduct, Social Compliance and Sustainable Procurement.

Today, more than 80% of our palm oil and palm oil derivatives consumption is RSPO mass-balance certified.

We will increase local wood sources by 5% per year.

We only use Mica from sustainable and socially responsible production without any child or dependent (forced) labour and are committed to a 100% transparent MICA supply chain.

For the production of our products, we only use wood from sustainable forestry by sourcing exclusively FSC or PEFC certified materials.

By transforming our portfolio into a clean and transparent one, we are developing the sustainable solutions of the future, without compromising on performance, including packaging, formula and sampling processes.

New formulas will be made with at least 75% Natural Origin Content (NOC).

100% vegan formulas by the end of 2022 in all desired products. Alternatives are available if technically not feasible.

Our products will contain 50%  less virgin fossil plastic in primary packaging by 2025.

Furthermore we will be using 25% less virgin fossil plastic in secondary packaging by the end of 2022.

To create real impact, we have to work together.
That's why we build alliances and partnerships with companies and organizations that share our commitment. We work together to ensure fair working conditions, effective environmental protection measures and the development of more sustainable materials.

We commit to annual SMETA audits performed by all our entities.

We are a founding member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

Since 2016, we have been one of the founding members of the Responsible Mica Initiative (RMI).

Sustainability starts with us. As a company, it is our mission to promote environmental awareness not only through our products, but also through the most important resource we have: Our employees.

Through offers and opportunities, we empower our employees to act more sustainably at work and in life, and promote sustainable and responsible behaviors in the areas of waste, commuting and the workspaces.

To encourage responsible behavior among our employees, we offer flexible work options, awareness trainings, as well as subsidized leasing of low-emission vehicles and subsidies for public transportation, among other things.

We are a global business, but we have strong local roots. As part of a community, we see it as our responsibility to take actions that protect the place we call home and enable its community to flourish.

Our global subsidiaries support a wide range of local projects that foster children and young people, support the socially disadvantaged and contribute to the positive development of the local communities.
